“Exotic Deadly: Or The MSG Play” World Premiere at The Old Globe & what people are saying

In Keiko Green's world-premiere play, Ami vows to redeem her family name and save the world from MSG. This whimsical, time-traveling adventure, directed by the celebrated Jesca Prudencio, is a riotous and hilarious romp through wild teenaged crushes, family legacies, and the magical properties of instant ramen!

“Mikami - is making her professional theater debut, and a spectacular debut. Mikami is on the Globe circular stage for virtually the entire 100 minutes of playing (there is no intermission) and she must be responsible for about 75 percent of the dialogue, much of it delivered with fierce upper register intensity. Mikami endows her performance with vocal resources of humor and emotion wrapped in physical stamina that dazzle, especially for a debut.”

— STAGE & CINEMA

As Ami, the endearing Anna Mikami believably and sensitively plays a troubled teen in an identity crisis.

— The San Diego Union Tribune

Mikami brings a smart, sensitive, and vulnerable performance to the role of Ami.”
